Faculty

The long-time faculty at Kiddie Kampus consists of certified teachers that range from a CDA to Masters Degrees. Additionally, every Kiddie Kampus staff member is required to have a background check and fingerprinting done PRIOR to starting at Kiddie Kampus. Staff members are CPR trained and certified. Due to the fact that Kiddie Kampus is a licensed center, all faculty members must work on continuing education and training every year. Kiddie Kampus has several staff members who are MAT certified which allows them to administer medication when a medical form is completed.

Rachel Norton

Owner and Director

When Rachel Norton became the owner of Kiddie Kampus of Medford in February of 2008, she immediately brought her personal education philosophy to the program. Ms. Norton’s philosophy embraces the idea that children should feel welcomed at school and have the opportunity to learn in a warm, loving environment built on structure, activities, play, and discovery.

Ms. Norton holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont. Prior to being the owner of Kiddie Kampus Ms. Norton has been involved with several early childcare programs. She is a member of the Suffolk County Childcare Council, the National Association of the Education of Young Children, and the Long Island Leadership Committe for Childcare in New York State. Additionally, she previously worked as the Director of one of the largest childcare programs on Long Island, in Nassau County, which consisted of 250 children.

Since taking ownership Ms. Norton has completely redesigned and renovated the facility, and added infant and toddler programs. These programs are structured to promote Kindergarten readiness, as well as parent, family, and community involvement with each child while also promoting self-help skills for the children to develop their individuality.
